Senior Backend Developer (PHP)
Firebird is an international online travel company that organizes trips to Europe for customers from around the world. We have a dedicated software development department that focuses on our products that allow everyone else to deliver some of the top-notch, worldwide services. Currently, there are a number of commercially available projects in production that are being actively worked on:
- Service for booking rail tickets https://rail.ninja

- Service for booking hotels https://travel.ninja
- PHP | Drupal 11, MariaDB/MySQL, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Docker.
- Designing and creating the project architecture;
- Back-end development;
- Analysis of business requirements and design of their implementation based on existing and new systems;
- Modification, implementation and creation of custom modules and components;
- Integration with external services (Payment systems, Salesforce, GDS services, etc.);
- Conducting code reviews;
- Work with version control systems;
- Work in Jira, Confluence.
- 3+ years of backend development experience;
- Strong communication skills;
- Strong knowledge of PHP (>8.0), code refactoring, coding standards;
- Experience with at least one of the popular PHP frameworks;
- Knowledge and practical application of OOP principles;
- Understanding how web servers work, working in Nginx + php-fpm bundles;
- Experience with coding with AI-agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex)

Senior SQL Developer
We are developing a high-load train scheduling system that processes large volumes of real-time railway route data. The system is built on MariaDB and includes complex logic for caching, task queue processing, and query optimization, hence we're looking for an experience SQL Developer to work on this project.
- 5+ years of commercial SQL development;
- Experience with high-load systems (processing millions of records);
- Knowledge of database design principles and normalization;
- Experience working in a team using version control systems (Git).
- 5+ years of experience with MariaDB/MySQL and a deep understanding of database architecture and optimization;
- Expert-level SQL knowledge (complex queries, window functions, CTEs, subqueries);
- Experience developing stored procedures and functions in MySQL/MariaDB;
- Proficiency in performance optimization of queries and database schemas;
- Strong understanding of indexing and optimization strategies for large datasets;
- Experience with Flyway or similar database migration tools;
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix and bash scripting for automation.
