BA Tech Lead

Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on Business Analysis Tech Lead who will combine active project work with ownership of BA standards, processes, and team practices.
This is not a traditional management role. You will continue working as a practising Business Analyst: leading discovery, preparing specifications, aligning solutions with stakeholders and engineering teams, and personally handling cases that other analysts cannot resolve independently.

What you will do:

  • Lead discovery, requirements analysis, specification development, and solution alignment for selected projects.
  • Personally resolve complex cases involving conflicting stakeholder interests, cross-team dependencies, disputed acceptance criteria, and difficult customer negotiations.
  • Review BA workflows, identify recurring gaps, and turn improvements into clear, practical standards, rules, and reusable practices.
  • Take ownership when a BA process is not followed or does not produce the expected result: identify the root cause and propose a practical solution.
  • Adapt BA processes as the team moves towards specification-driven and AI-supported delivery.
  • Participate in cross-unit discussions where decisions affect feature scope, priorities, system compatibility, or multiple teams.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across business, product, engineering, and adjacent systems.
  • Help define when a BA can independently launch the development pipeline and when work should be handed over to an engineer.
  • Provide recommendations on analyst allocation and rotation to improve knowledge sharing, team flexibility, and business continuity.
  • Test and apply AI tools for discovery, complexity assessment, specification development, and requirements validation before introducing them to the team.
  • Review AI-related rules, skills, and sub-agents created by other analysts using a PR-style review process.
  • Maintain the shared repository of BA practices and ensure it remains current, consistent, and useful.
  • Mentor analysts, review specification gaps and acceptance issues, and provide practical training on BA methods and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Identify repeated quality or standards issues, document the facts, and escalate them to the People Manager with a clear recommendation.
  • Ensure that valuable findings and lessons learned become shared team knowledge rather than remaining with individual analysts.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst in software or product development.
  • Proven ability to lead complex discovery and requirements processes from initial need to implementation-ready specification.
  • Experience resolving difficult stakeholder, customer, and cross-team disagreements.
  • Strong understanding of software delivery, system dependencies, and the impact of requirements on engineering.
  • Experience improving BA processes and turning improvements into working team standards.
  • Practical experience using AI tools in business analysis workflows.
  • Ability to introduce process changes and drive their adoption, including in situations where there is resistance.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership skills without relying on formal authority.
  • Ability to maintain professional discipline, quality standards, and accountability within the BA team.
  • Strong ownership, critical thinking, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Good written and spoken English.

We offer:

  • Competitive compensation based on interview results.
  • Opportunity to build a stellar career in a fast-growing international travel company.
  • Opportunity to work with advanced top-of-the-line software for travel management.
  • Interesting, challenging tasks and a world-class team.
