Full-stack Developer (PHP/React)

Role Description

Firebird is an international online travel company that organizes trips to Europe for customers from around the world. We have a dedicated software development department that focuses on our products that allow everyone else to deliver some of the top-notch, worldwide services. Currently, there are a number of commercially available projects in production that are being actively worked on:


Tech stack: PHP 8+ / Drupal, React / Next.js, MariaDB, Docker, Git
Our product team is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Fullstack Developer.

Your tasks will include:

  • Designing and creating end-to-end project architecture — from data model and API design to UI/UX implementation;
  • Backend development: PHP/Drupal services, business logic, custom modules;
  • Frontend development: React/Next.js applications, component architecture, state management, SSR/SSG rendering strategies;
  • Analysis of business requirements and design of their implementation across the full stack;
  • Modification, implementation and creation of custom Drupal modules and themes, as well as reusable React components;
  • Building responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces;
  • Integration with external services (Payment systems, Salesforce, GDS services, etc.) — both API-level integration and the corresponding UI flows;
  • Participating in API contract design between backend and frontend;
  • Conducting code reviews across backend and frontend codebases;
  • Active use of Company-approved AI development tools (e.g., Cursor) in compliance with internal policies, security standards, and evolving corporate guidelines;
  • Work with version control systems;
  • Work in Jira, Confluence.

Candidate requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience shipping both backend and frontend features in production;
  • Strong knowledge of PHP (>8.0): OOP, code refactoring, coding standards;
  • Strong knowledge of React: hooks, component design patterns, state management (Redux/Context/Zustand);
  • Hands-on experience with server rendering (Next.js) — SSR, SSG, ISR, API routes, hydration;
  • Experience with at least one popular PHP framework (Drupal/Laravel/Symfony);
  • Solid understanding of REST/GraphQL API design and backend-frontend integration;
  • Understanding how web servers work; experience with Nginx + php-fpm;
  • Experience with modern frontend tooling (Webpack/Vite, npm/yarn); TypeScript is a plus;
  • Experience coding with AI agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex);
  • Comfortable working in the Linux console;
  • Experience with Git and code review workflows;
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working across backend and frontend concerns.
